INTRODUCTION TO LEARNING
HCA features a Christ-centered, college preparatory curriculum for students in grades K-12. All classes feature small class sizes, with an average of 14 students per classroom. Teachers enthusiastically seek to instruct students with relevant learning experiences that not only challenge each child according to his or her ability, but to prepare them to serve and be a light in their community (Matthew 5:14).
A high priority is placed on teacher-parent communication as academic progress is identified at Individualized Performance Plan (IPP) meetings and through consistent feedback via grade reports. Parents and guardians are welcome to schedule meetings regarding academic progress as needed, observing our priority on in-person communication (2 John 12).
Each building-level program is designed to best prepare students at the next level. Elementary school curriculum prepares K-5 students for success in middle school. Organizational and content-area skills are introduced in grades 6-8 to prepare for high school. Advanced classes as well as a high school academic advisor prepare students for collegiate success.
