Founded in 2000, Horizon Christian Academy is a full time K-12 private Christian School located near the heart of downtown Cumming, GA. - Health Coverage – Medical insurance is available to full-time employees through Performance Health. The school pays a portion of the total premium for the employee, depending on the plan type and coverage level.
- Dental Coverage – A dental plan is offered to full-time employees through Equitable. This plan is paid for by the Employee.
- Vision Coverage – A vision plan is offered to employees through Equitable. This plan is paid for by the Employee.

Substitute Teacher
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a productive learning environment in the absence of the regular teacher. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about education, the next generation, working along side a family-oriented team and also those looking for a flexible schedule.
We offer competitive pay compared to the public school system within our county but with much smaller class sizes!
Duties
- Implement lesson plans as directed by the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior & schedule effectively to create a respectful and conducive learning environment.
- Support students in their academic pursuits.
- Communicate effectively with students & staff.
- Foster a caring environment for all students.
- Interview & Background check required.
Hour vary per week. Substitutes may accept or decline requests and may also be selective in the age groups – elementary, middle &/or high school.
