A Strong Foundation

Curriculum Our curriculum exceeds the Georgia Standards of Excellence and is thoughtfully designed to educate the whole child. While we do not use Common Core, our academic foundation is strong and rigorous. Kindergarten through third-grade students are taught reading and phonics through the Orton-Gillingham Multisensory Approach, a research-based method that uses visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning to build confident, capable readers. Technology is integrated to enhance instruction, and students engage with a variety of tools including textbooks, interactive notebooks, and hands-on materials.
Small Classes Our small class sizes also allow teachers to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners – supporting those who need extra help and challenging advanced students with higher-level thinking and problem-solving. This approach sets students on an accelerated track, especially in mathematics, positioning eligible learners to begin middle school prepared for future Advanced Placement coursework.
Spiritual Formation HCA also emphasizes spiritual development through a vibrant weekly Chapel program that focuses on building strong, Biblical character. Each month, students are recognized for exemplifying specific character traits. Chapel includes worship, skits, games, and storytelling, with fifth-grade students given the opportunity to lead worship and serve as role models for younger grades.
Extracurriculars In addition to core academics and spiritual formation, students benefit from a rich array of “specials” classes each week, including:
Physical Education
Music
Visual Arts
Technology
Spanish
