High School
Preparing Students for Beyond the Classroom
At Horizon Christian Academy, students are prepared to lead with confidence, integrity, and purpose through a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum in a small-group learning environment. As they grow, students move from concrete to abstract thinking, developing strong analytical skills, wise decision-making, and a long-term perspective – all grounded in Biblical truth. On-campus Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement courses across multiple disciplines support academic excellence throughout the high school years.
Faith and learning are seamlessly integrated within a Christ-centered community that encourages thoughtful questions and spiritual growth. Students participate in Bible classes each year and gather weekly for worship through student-led praise and biblical teaching. Leadership development is a hallmark of the Horizon experience, beginning with TeamBuilding camp and culminating as seniors lead and serve during the middle school TeamBuilding experience.
At Horizon Christian Academy, education goes beyond the classroom – shaping students to lead, serve, and thrive.
Launched in 2023, the AP School Honor Roll program “recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening participation” and is operated by The College Board, the organization responsible for overseeing Advanced Placement programs and SAT exams.
To be recognized on the AP Honor Roll, schools must meet each of the following criteria for their students in the most recent graduating class:
College Culture: 40% or more of the graduating cohort took at least one AP Exam during high school
College Credit: 25% or more of the graduating cohort scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP Exam during high school
College Optimization: 2% or more of the graduating cohort took five or more AP exams during high school; at least one of those exams was taken in 9th or 10th grade
Have full-time grade-12 enrollments
Be located within the United States or Canada
Our DE program is thoughtfully supported and monitored by our Dual Enrollment Coordinator, who works closely with students, families, and partner colleges to help ensure a smooth and successful experience. While many DE courses are offered online, we also provide select on-campus DE courses taught by Horizon Christian Academy teachers who serve as adjunct professors for our partner colleges, blending college-level rigor with the support and relationships students value.
DE allows motivated students to take an important step toward college readiness while remaining connected to their high school community. We are committed to guiding students toward the academic pathway that is the right fit for them, one that offers appropriate challenges while maintaining balance and supporting their overall well-being.
